What are the benefits of a consultation
with a Nutritional Therapist?

Wellness isn’t just the absence of disease.

True wellness means energy, vitality and complete physical and emotional wellbeing.

Most people understand that a healthy, balanced diet and regular exercise can make a huge difference to the way you look and feel. However, what many people don’t realise is exactly how powerful nutrition and lifestyle factors can be in the healing and prevention of disease.

When discussing nutritional therapy with clients, I like to use the analogy of an overflowing sink. It’s all very well mopping the floor or putting towels down but unless you turn the taps off and take the plug out, the problem will continue and wreak more havoc.

Likewise, with our health. Nutritional Medicine is about getting to the root of a problem and empowering you to improve your wellbeing.

A Nutritional Therapist can help you to manage the following conditions and more;

  • Digestive issues like IBS, bloating or discomfort upon eating
  • Skin conditions like eczema, acne, psoriasis or hives
  • Chronic fatigue, low energy and troubled sleeping
  • Weakened immune system and on-going colds and infections
  • Allergies and hay fever
  • Menopause symptoms and other hormone imbalances
  • Diabetes prevention and management
  • Sugar cravings
  • Weight loss
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Detoxification
  • And much more…

Nutritional Medicine is a science. It’s biochemistry. And it works.

So, if you would like to feel like yourself again, please contact us to arrange an appointment.

  • My eczema was flaring up and felt out of control. My exams, poor sleep and the pandemic weren't helping. Now I'm feeling much calmer and in control. The eczema on my face and neck have cleared up completely and I feel like I'll be able to help myself next time.

    Soraya, North London
  • Tamla was really wonderful to work with. I'd been struggling with dyshidrotic eczema for years, had a continuously itchy scalp and troubled digestion. With a really thorough look into my health, she pinpointed different areas I could work on with a solid plan on how to do so. After 6 weeks of following this, everything had improved. Nearly 4 months later and I still haven't had a bad flare up. I also have a much better idea of what triggers the issues. And this was all done over Zoom because of the pandemic!

    Annie, France
  • Your knowledge and understanding about eczema is outstanding. You understood so well and the difference in my son in just six weeks is breathtaking. Can’t thank you enough and would recommended anyone with eczema to meet with you.

    Christine in Kingston
  • So far, I have lost 3 cms from my waist and am feeling much better about my holiday. You were so helpful, thank you.

from Jessica in Richmond upon Thames
  • I can’t believe that I hardly even sneezed this Spring! My allergies finally feel under control.

Let food be thy medicine. Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease.

Meet Tamla

Nutritional Therapist, Splendid Nutrition.

Our busy lives, demanding schedules and numerous responsibilities sometimes result in us ignoring or neglecting the subtler signs of ill health until we have an acute or chronic illness.

In fact many people have felt unwell, out of shape, stressed, tired and fed-up for so long that they think it’s normal. Let me be clear about this. It’s not normal!

Our bodies are perfectly designed to serve, protect and enable us for the duration of our lives. Our bodies work hard to protect us from bacteria, viruses and environmental toxins. It regulates our temperature, breathes oxygen and pumps blood around our bodies without us having to think about it. Your body is your best friend and yet so often we can be really mean to it!

When we are ill, tired and run-down or in pain, it is our body’s way of letting us know that there’s something wrong. It needs help. It needs attention and it needs the right kind of nutrition and exercise.

I love working with clients and helping them to get to the root of what is going wrong and steer them back towards optimal health.

As Hippocrates said “Let food be thy medicine” and “Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease”.

What to expect at your consultation?

An initial consultation with a Nutritional Therapist will take around an hour and a half. Your first appointment will involve taking detailed notes about your existing concerns, health history, lifestyle and even your family’s medical history.

With the understanding that no two people are the same, we will work with you to build a realistic, manageable and personalised plan. With your permission, we will always work alongside your GP if you are under medical supervision or if we feel that s/he should be aware of anything.

We will give appropriate advice that is realistic for you.

  • Busy professionals and parents who would like to be better able to look after themselves and their families.
  • Healthy but worried people who may have a familial history of disease and wish to navigate away from future disease
  • People with long-term chronic conditions that just haven’t been able to get the help they need from their GPs.
  • Coach potato, sugar addicts who would like to improve their lives.
  • You may be going through a change in your life or be experiencing new symptoms.

You may leave your consultation armed with any or all of the following;

  • Information
  • Recipe ideas
  • A nutrition plan
  • Some lifestyle tips
  • Supplement suggestions
  • A letter for your GP
  • Functional testing options

We will usually ask you to come for a follow- up meeting, around 4-6 weeks later. Although, depending on your symptoms and your objectives, you may only need one session!

In other cases, we will continue to see you, on an agreed basis until you feel in control of your health and back to yourself again.

Our objective is to get you to a stage where you are able to help yourself.

What to bring with you:

Gut Microbiome

Our guts are hosts to trillions of tiny organisms, collectively known as the ‘microbiome’.

This collection of bacteria, fungi, viruses and yeasts weighs around two kilos and lives in commensal harmony with us. They need us to host them and we need them in order to survive. We live completely co-dependently with our microbiome and like any relationship, it can be a healthy or less healthy existence.
